About this project
Every travel memory deserves to be kept.
When I searched for my first tea bowl, I was totally lost — so many styles, so much history. As a local in Japan, if I felt that confused, international travelers must feel even more lost. So I decided to bridge that gap.
Chawan Journey was created to help you discover hidden pottery towns and find a unique souvenir that holds your story: a map to find ancient kiln spots, and an AI matcher that reads your photo into a Japanese ceramic tradition.
